January 18, 2010 – 1:45 am

Logs
Timber wood used to call logs, and from here begins the process of making furniture. Log distributed to the factory or mill center using special transportation both on land and by river. Some companies peel logs in order to more quickly dry during the trip. Usually buyers want to get the log to process a few days after arriving in the log sawmill and dry kiln. To avoid damage and cracks, the log cross-section given nail worm as a safety.
Sawmilling
Then the log is split according to the size needed. Standard thickness of the board at the time of splitting logs are 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, and 15 cm. In the Sawmill area, the boards are separated according to division of the thickness and type of wood so as to facilitate the settings in the dry kiln. For manufacturers who have large production capacity, has sawmill will help production efficiency both in terms of material usage and production rate. Before entering into the drying room, board and block previously stored outside the room with the goal of keeping the water content will also evaporate as air temperature outside the room. This is usually only done during the summer. To be awake wood quality, the longest was 1 week after the lumber, the wood must be dried immediately. The faster the wood will be better processed so there is no time for fungi and insects to attack the wood.
Kiln Dry
Many type of wood to go through the drying process. As for the need to pay attention to the size of the thickness of the board, how stack and drying methods. Soft wood are prone to rupture if the process of drying too quickly. Wood drying takes between 2 to 4 weeks, influenced by the type of wood, thickness of the board and the dryer capacity. A good way of drying is to use the right equipment. In some small timber industries to dry the woods is usually enough to resting on a wall or pole and rely on the sun. However, this method can not produce the ideal level of MC for wood. Drying method has many kinds of method and each has advantages and disadvantages. Sawn Timber dry should be kept in a clean, dry and well ventilated, safe from the heat and rain to keep dry wood properly maintained.
Process Components (cut, shaved, drilled, etc.)
The size of timber cut and split according to the size of the work product. If such finish measures a foot of the table is 700 x 40 x 40 mm, then the components must be prepared is 720 x 45 x 45mm, so there is tolerance for the planes and sandpaper. To get this size the carpenter would take dry board with 45mm thickness of the machine to cut a saw or ripsaw become 45mm wide. Of the process will be obtained bar / 45×45mm timber sizes. After that the beams are brought into the cutting machine with a saw to cut length 720mm. Short blocks are then sent to the machine element (planner, thicknesser or other similar) to get the size so with a smooth surface without the saw line. Done shaved (depending on the type of product as well), that component was transferred to the drilling machine, or machine (tenoner & mortiser) to make the construction. If in principle the construction process is completed, all components will end up sanding machine prior to assembly. Grit sandpaper subtlety here usually just up to the level of refinement 240 numbers.
Assembling
Furniture with knock down construction is not fully through this process. There is a possibility some components need to be assembled prior to finishing, there are also assembled after the finishing process. In general, the assembly process carried out before the finishing, in order at the time was fine components will no longer be handicapped because of scratches. Assembly became one of the key product qualities, especially on the strength and durability of products. This process requires patience in order to use glue is perfect and not too much. In addition also the quality of connection (meetings / open) will only be repaired in this process. Of the entire process of furniture, the assembly process is relatively long and complicated. For products that ‘fixed’, installation of hardware are also part of the assembly process, especially for the installation of hinges, locks, and other binding instruments.
Control drawer, door, stability, and functionality of the product.
In the assembly area, issues drawer and door installation must be done perfectly. No need to have the repair process after coming out of the assembly. For products such as chairs, chairs have been assembled in a state of strong and stable (not shake) before entering the finishing room. To meet the quality standards will be many additional processes during assembly.

Unlike bamboo, which is hollow, rattan is a solid timber vine that grows in the jungles of Indonesia. The rattan is placed in a steam box which is necessary for bending the rattan and making it more pliable. Jigs are constructed for producing specific shapes. When the rattan is steaming hot, it is bent to fit into the jig. Once cooled, the rattan will remain in that shape. The shaped poles are assembled with straight poles that are contoured to fit joints evenly. Our furniture is constructed only with quality hardware. The joints where the two pieces meet are wrapped cheifly with peel / wicker / leather bindings. Once the furniture is complete, combinations of latex and alcohol base stains are used to obtain a homogeneous finish. Painstaking detail is used to prepare and sand each piece for a clean, smooth surface. Water Hyacinth - furniture is made from the dried stems of this ubiquitous aquatic plant in an ingenious weave technique to create comfortable sofas and chairs, that are not only strong but are pieces of great beauty and character. Abaca - is a species of plantain banana tree, grown especially for the inner layers of its bark. This robust plantation grown material is woven in intricate patterns of great style that our designers use to maximum effect. Do not allow your furniture to be exposed to harsh Ultraviolet sunlight for prolonged periods of time, as this can affect the colour. Turn the cushions periodically. Gently wipe over the frames with a moist, clean cloth to remove dust or spills and vacuum the woven parts with a soft brush attachment. For major liquid spills, remove all upholstery, hose the water hyacinth furniture and place outside or in a drying room to dry. Please note that it is important that the furniture is dried and not remain wet or damp for any length of time as this will result in mould and subsequent deterioration of the water hyacinth furniture. Water hyacinth is a natural untreated handmade product and will absorb moisture and dry out in direct relation to climate conditions. To avoid any deterioration it is recommended that the environment be dry and well ventilated.
